Dave Fox

About Me

Dave Fox teaches music appreciation, music theory, and piano at Greensboro College. He is active as a performer of modern/avant jazz. He has recorded with Eugene Chadbourne, Ian Davis, Frank Gratkowski, and Pat Lawrence. His cutting-edge jazz group, The Dave Fox Group, has released two CDs, the critically acclaimed Gatewalk and, most recently, If These Songs Could Talk.

Mr. Fox is the curator of the Greensboro College “Improvising Music” series, which seeks to bring together local, national, and international improvising musicians for concerts in the Greensboro, North Carolina area.

His greatest joy as a musician was the day he realized that improvisation is simply making up music as you go along.
