Las Vegas Veteran, he now is based in Northeast Ohio and lead his own big band, performs with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, and Ernie Krivda, as well as backs up Major Acts and Shows as Lead Trumpet.
David Banks has returned to the Northeast Ohio area after a twenty-year career in Las Vegas,Nevada. He performed in over 4000 shows there including six years with the hotel orchestras of the Flamingo and Las Vegas Hilton. He worked with countless entertainers on the Las Vegas Strip as a member of the Lou Elias Relief Orchestra. He performed with the Nevada Symphony and The Las Vegas Philharmonic. Dave served as Trumpet Instructor and Assistant Director of Bands at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Since his return, Dave joined the faculty of Walsh Jesuit High School and teaches music and drama. He is in demand as a lead trumpeter in Northeast Ohio. He performs and records with The Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, Ernie Krivda Fat Tuesday Big Band, and The Paul Ferguson Orchestra. Dave has served as Lead Trumpet at Playhouse Square, E.J. Thomas Hall, The Carousel Dinner Theatre and Porthouse Theater. He now leads his own big band, “The Dave Banks Big Band.” He plays on the Dave Banks Custom Calicchio Trumpet and Flugelhorn.
