Trombonist / band leader
Dana Legg is a native of Marshalltown, Iowa, but has been in the Chicago area since 1987. He's been leading jazz bands since he was 16 and started The Dana Legg Stage Band in 1992. That group just released their third album, “Scoopin' The Loop”, a collection of classic rock tunes arranged to the big band sound!

My Jazz Story
The best show I ever attended was... Maynard Ferguson in 1975, the Chameleon tour. I had seen Buddy and Woody, but was too young to really understand much.
This was my 9th grade, and I was just starting to appreciate playing. Our junior high band went to Iowa State with no idea who Maynard was, but I was completely
blown away by the band, the energy, the arrangements and just the overall vibe of the show. That night changed my life, and I knew I had to make that kind of music.
