About Me

I have tried many jobs: I was a TV reporter, a music festival producer, a security guard, a news agency editor, a rock group musician, a radio station host, a newspaper columnist, a prep school professor, a radio station program director, but it was writing about jazz music which made me feel like doing the right thing at the right place. I have spend most of my life in my native Moscow, Russia, though I travelled worldwide (still do, and hope to keep doing this) -- as far as the U.S., which for my Russian readers is indeed a remote and exotic place.
