Clay Schaub

About Me

Clay Schaub has been a professional jazz bassist for 15 years. From 2008-2013 he worked in the New York City jazz scene as a skilled sideman performing regularly with Greg Ruggiero, Gregory Tardy, Bob Mover, Steve Ash, Uros Markovic, Ochion Jewell, Alma Micic, & Igor Lumpert. He has studied with Ken Walker, David Parlato, Neal Miner, Eric Gunnison, & Michael Kanan. Clay currently lives in Milwaukee where he works steadily, accompanying national touring artists like David Bixler, Russ Nolan, Jeff Morrison, and local jazz legend Manty Ellis. His 2015 record 'The Plain But Simple Truth' highlights the work of one of Milwaukee's first-call piano trios with Mark Davis (piano), and Devin Drobka (drums). Clay carries on making music with friends, composing, and teaching. He finds great joy in it.
