Clarence Ward III
Saxophonist and Trumpeter
About Me
Saxophonist and trumpeter, Clarence H. Ward III, pours heart and complex emotion into the
fiber of his sound. From the minute you hear the crisp, agile wail of his trumpet, or the playful
sincerity of his sax you are frozen, caught in a snare of hope and honesty until he decides he has said his piece. Standing as a major influencer in the development of Baltimore's present jazz
sound, Ward's lion heart positions him on the vanguard, reinforcing jazz music as a vital voice
for these modern times.

My Jazz Story
I love jazz because... It's been my best way to express my emotions I was first exposed to jazz... My high school music teacher and aunt were the first to expose me to jazz I met [musician name]... I've met, performed with or shared the stage with many great artists. A few of my favorite were Frank Foster, Bobby Watson, Benny Golson, Roy Hargrove Ledisi, My advice to new listeners... As you grow in the music, don't forget to feel. Or whatever else you have in mind.
