About Me
Greek jazz pianist and educator, founder of JazzTeaching.gr. Teaches the Barry Harris Method online, in Greek and English.
Christos Mastrogiannidis is a Greek jazz pianist and educator based in Athens, and the founder of JazzTeaching.gr, with 30 years of teaching experience. He studied jazz piano at Kunstuniversität Graz (Austria) with Harald Neuwirth, and at Berklee College of Music (Boston). In Greece he studied with Giannis Terezakis, and he has attended seminars with Gary Burton, Kenny Werner, Michael Abene and Jarmo Savolainen. He attended Barry Harris’s own workshops and studied the method in depth with Shan Verma, a student of Barry Harris. He teaches the Barry Harris Method in private online lessons for Greek- and English-speaking students worldwide, focusing on functional harmony, voicings, comping and jazz improvisation. His approach emphasizes structured learning over scales and theory alone, guiding students toward real musical understanding at the piano.
