About Me

Founder of "le Bananier bleu": Afro Caribbean Jazz & Soul Music

Since April 2001, we have set up a web portal for jazz and improvised music in Guadeloupe and Martinique, called “le Bananier Bleu” (www.bananierbleu.fr). Since the visibility of jazzmen from Guadeloupe on the Internet was fairly low, we offered them the possibility to have an online biography at le Bananier Bleu, and this often constitutes their one and only web-reference until today. Since that time our database is continuously growing and includes musicians such as Dominique Bérose, Jocelyn Ménard, Alain Jean-Marie, Al Lirvat, Jean-Christophe Maillard, Jacques Coursil, Mario Canonge, Franck Nicolas, Sonny Troupé or Jacques Schwarz-Bart, among others. We also include interviews with the great jazzmen that come to perform in Guadeloupe (François Jeanneau, Richard Bona, Mike Stern, Joe Zawinul, Andy Narell, Kenny Garrett, Etienne M'bappé...), albums releases and events photographic coverage (Festival de Jazz de Pointe-à-Pitre, Creole Blues Festival, Gwadloup Festival...). In 2010, we then launched “l’Agence” (http://lagence.bananierbleu.fr). The main goal is to work deeper with some of the artists we love. We propose to manage online presence of the artists, including communication, website, social networks, and information updates. We are also helping them manage their career and booking when available. • Website development: Jacques Schwarz-Bart, Iguane Xtet, Mario Canonge, Chris Combette, Sonny Troupé • Management: Bérose, Iguane Xtet, Sarahysha • Booking & PR: Bérose, Jocelyn Ménard, Sarahysha • Social Networks: Bérose, Julius Essoka, Iguane Xtet, Sarahysha, Jacques Schwarz-Bart, Jocelyn Ménard, Sarahysha, Franck Nicolas
