In Paris France since 2002, Canadian double bassist CHRIS JENNINGS has established himself as double bassist with guitarist Nguyen Lê’s in his current “Streams 4tet”, his Quartet with Rita Marcotulli and Danny Gottlieb/Roberto Gato, trio with Stephane Edouard, Nguyen Lê’s « Fragile Beauty Project, » the Dhafer Youssef Quartet (with Tigran Hamasyan and Mark Guiliana), pianist Joachim Kuhn's New Trio, David Aubaile's D.A.T. avec drummer Karim Ziad, the renowned Turkish Ney musician Kudsi Erguner Group, Céline Bonacina 4tet featuring Gwilym Simcock and her Fly Fly Trio.

Chris Jennings « Drum'n Koto Trio », son 7ème album en tant que leader, accompagné de la joueuse de koto japonais Mieko Miyazaki et de Patrick Goraguer à la batterie et au senteur iranien, a été choisi comme “Disque du Mois” dans Jazz News magazine France. A performer, composer, leader, arranger and teacher, playing a wide variety of musical genres and styles on both upright and electric basses, he also leads the “CHRIS JENNINGS TRIO” with Pierre Perchaud on acoustic guitar and Leon Parker on drums, as well as the “JENNINGS/PERCHAUD” acoustic duo, his own string quintet and more. His current future album in trio features German drummer Eric Schaefer and pianist Patrick Goraguer to be released in 2021.

Other projects include the Jacek Kochan/Dave Liebman Quartet in Eastern Europe and the Lee Konitz/Giovanni Ceccarelli Quartet.

As a sideman he has performed with Rick Margitza, Paul McCandless, Seamus Blake, Aaron Parks, Enrico Rava, Gary Husband, Benjamin Koppel, Marilyn Mazur, Kenny Werner, Ari Hoenig, Eivind Aarset, Bojan Z, Ziv Ravitz, Marko Crncec, Yaron Herman, Mark Shim, John Hadfield, Ludwig Afonso, Rudy Royston, Ferenc Nemeth, Omri Mor, Terumasa Hino, Kiyohiko Semba, Hüsnu Senlendirici, Ingrid Jensen, Valgeir Sigurosson (Bjork), Adrean Farrugia, Mike Murley, Dave Restivo, Phil Dwyer, Andy Milne, Marçin Wasilewski, Satoshi Takeishi, Nelson Veras, Airelle Besson to name a few.

Since 1996 Mr. Jennings completed numerous self-study/project residencies at the Banff Centre for the Arts Canada, a Bachelors (B.A.) in Jazz Performance from the University of Toronto, Canada (2000), and a Masters (M.A.) in Music from the Royal Conservatory of the Hague, Holland (2004). He is proudly sponsored by d'Addario Bowed Strings, David Gage Realist and Thomas Martin double basses.
