Chinita Tate-Burroughs

I am a photographer who loves combining both my love of photography and music.

About Me

As an avid lover of music, I feel that music and photography are deeply connected. Both are shaped by harmony, rhythm, balance, and a sense of place. I love working with musicians. They provide insight into not only their artistry, but also what it means to love and have passion for what they do. Musicians communicate with their instruments what I attempt to convey with my camera. It is the language of the spirit.

My Jazz Story

Published on: 2018-04-24

I was first exposed to jazz while learning to play chess with my uncles. They would play smooth jazz, and then switch up to more standard types of jazz. But, when they played "Kind of Blue" by Miles Davis, I was hooked and I haven't looked back.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
