CHIA Ming Chien

About Me

Chia Ming Chien has worked in the communications industry for over 20 years as a Photographer, Editor, Copywriter and Journalist. He is a graduate from Murdoch University with a B.A. in Theories of Consciousness.

As a professional freelance PHOTOGRAPHER, Ming Chien specialises in architecture, documentary, and travel photography. His photographs have been published in The Straits Times, Lianhe Zhaobao, The Business Times, My Paper, Expat Living, Asia! Magazine, FHM Singapore, Tiger Tales and Mandala magazine. In December 2011, National Geographic Magazine published his as a double-page spread and lead image for a feature story. In April 2012, the Institute of Contemporary Arts presented his WIRES series of photographs in a month-long solo exhibition.

In July 2012, over 30 images of his (including the cover photo) were published in the Methodist Girls’ School 125th Anniversary commemorative coffee-table book ‘Lift High Her Banner’.

He is currently working on a series of architectural photographs of iconic buildings in Singapore. From August-September 2012, the Fullerton Heritage Gallery, Fullerton Hotel, is displaying this work-in-progress in a solo exhibition curated by Vanini Belarmino entitled Intimate Moments 1: ICONS.
