About Me
My Jazz Story
I love jazz because it is a very diverse and creative genre.
Experimentation is the very nature of jazz and I love to
experiment with my music.
After I graduated high school. I was first exposed to jazz when I started listening to
Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, John McLaughlin, and Larry Coryell.
While in college, I met Michael and Randy Brecker, and Pat Martino.
The best show I ever went to was when Pat Metheny and Larry
Grenadier performed at the Napa Valley Opera House. They were both
outstanding!
The first jazz record I ever bought was Wes Montgomery's
"Beginnings". That album jump started my playing into the jazz
guitar arena.
My advice to new listeners is to open up your mind and broaden
your perspective of what is available within the jazz arena. Train
your ears while getting educated by a good teacher or teachers!
