About Me
Born Prov., R.I.; toured with Larry Elgart Band 1958-1960; major appearance Newport Jazz Festival 1961; recording debut Columbia Records 1961 (Out Of The Blue);sang at The Village Vanguard, Mr. Kelly's (Chicago), the hungry i (San Francisco), appeared numerous times on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson; moved to Raleigh, NC 1969 and worked frequently in that area; returned to NYC in 1977 and made the first of a dozen trips to Japan for concerts and clubs; signed with Concord Records in 1990; recorded numerous lp's and cd's; has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, continues to travel extensively, and has hosted her own jazz radio program on both WGBH-FM in Boston and WICN-FM in Worcester, MA, both NPR affiliates.
