Carmelo Nicosia

I was first exposed to jazz as a kid when my dad gave me guitar lessons, and I've been drawn to it ever since: listening, playing, learning... it's been a beautiful experience and a spiritual journey. I met George Benson and saw him as a down to earth, humble, and genuine person. When we jammed together, he brought out the best in me, and he was very affirming. I often tell my wife, when I am practicing the guitar: "When I grow up, I want to be a guitar player." She tells me, "Honey you can't have both."
