Founded in Chicago in 2023 by saxophonist Geof Bradfield and trumpeter Chad McCullough, Calligram Records documents creative jazz from the Windy City and beyond. Named for the literary form in which a poem is shaped like its subject, the label aims to represent the diverse and vibrant experience of the modern jazz scene with a carefully curated catalog of artists and albums. Recognized in the DownBeat Critics Poll as one of the best jazz labels of 2025, Calligram Records features more than 30 releases spanning small group jazz, chamber ensembles, and soul jazz. Our roster reflects the depth and interconnectedness of the Chicago creative scene alongside artists from around the globe with a shared vision of excellence and dedication to the music. Every release, however far afield, connects back to our shared community of artists. Calligram releases limited edition CDs and select vinyl titles with worldwide digital distribution and a modern visual aesthetic that reflects the music. In July 2026 we will celebrate our third anniversary with a four-night festival at Andy's Jazz Club in Chicago showcasing more than a dozen Calligram artists.
