About Me

I am a brazilian jazz drummer and alternative music composer.

In Jazz, i play with brazilian legendary trad-jazz clarinetist, Tito Martino, since 2004.

In 2013, I produced the Cd 'Pioneiros do Jazz Paulistano'; a work that sought to honor the classic and elegant jazz of the pioneers Tito Martino, Hector Costita, André Busic among others. An album very well received by critics and public.

My experimental instrumental works mix progressive rock with swing/dixieland drumming.

Between 2019/2020 i wrote a very special and complete drum method about the roots of drumming, called 'Vintage Drumming' - www.billyponzio.com/vintage-drumming
