About Me
Ben grew up on the outskirts of D.c. in Silver Spring, Maryland. He Attended Barrie Montesorri School during high school, and earned a Music Performance Degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a jazz concentration. After a year he decided to go back to school at Boston's famous Berklee school of music. Music teachers include Mark Mazzatenta, Barry Harris, Charlie Byrd and Stephane Wrembel among others.
My Jazz Story
I love jazz because jazz is the greatest, most complicated music
I was first exposed to jazz when my dad turned the records on of Fetcher Henderson,
Basie,
all the great big bands!
I met Charlie Byrd as a young musician, and was treated so seeing him several times; and
taking some guitar lessons with him as well
The best show I ever attended was at the Django Rienhardt festival in samois, but it's the
after
hours jams that get me!
My advice to new listeners is to have a open mind, follow your passion, not your mind!
