About Me
Marcos Baggiani (Argentina 1973) is a cutting-edge drummer, composer and producer.
Born in Buenos Aires, he moved to Amsterdam in 2001 to study at the Conservatory, gaining
an MA in Jazz.
Enlightened by his encounter with the impro/jazz scene of the Netherlands, Marcos evolved as
a
creative, powerful and versatile musician.
He was co-founder and curator of The Meeting Point, a monthly music & dance laboratory at
the Bimhuis, which today functions as Monday Match
Established ensembles include Jerboah, The Ambush Party, the C.B.G (Celano/Baggiani group)
and bAgg*fisH.
He has worked with great Jazz improvisers such us Ellery Eskelin, Ab Baars, Shahzad Ismaily,
Michael
Moore, Sylvie Courvoisier, Ernst Rijsiger, John Edwards, Luc Ex, Oren Marshall, Wolter
Wiorbos, Ingrid Laubrock, Achim Kaufmann, Michael Vatcher, BoiAkih and Wilbert de Joode.
He has played all over Europe and America. performing in Festivals such as Moers Jazz
Festival, North Sea Jazz Fest, Jazz Cerkno, ArtActs, London Jazz Festival, Mantchester Jazz Fest.
Buenos Aires Jazz Fest.,
Molde Jazz Fest, Flagey - Brussels, Utrecht Jazz Fest. etc.
Through his studies and professional career, Marcos has receive the generous support of
different grants, such as Amsterdam Fund for the Arts (AFK), SENA Fund, PPO Werktuig,
ThuisKopieFonds and Funds for the Performing Arts (FPK), among others.
