My Jazz Story

I love jazz because...I am a Jazz drummer and singer...and was a former chairman of the Jazz educational program in New York City I was first exposed to jazz...I grew up as a little boy living in Harlem New York attending concerts at the Apollo Theater in the 1950's I met [musician name]...James Spaulding , Barry Harris, Thelonius Monk, Clark Terry, Monte Croft, The best show I ever attended was...Too many to name one....Perhaps James Spaulding would rank up at the top The first jazz record I bought was...Giant Steps by John Coltrane My advice to new listeners...Tune into WBGO FM, Log onto Youtube for Jazz recording which number into the hundreds of thousands Or whatever else you have in mind.

My House Concert Story

Yes ....during the mid 80's, I hosted a few Jazz and African art concerts...One which featured the legendary tenor saxophonist , James Spaulding
