Ariane Racicot is a Montreal jazz pianist and composer who had an international success with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody on Youtube, reaching over 18 million views. She first began her classical piano training at the age of 6, until she decided to switch to jazz ten years later. While pursuing her studies at Cégep St-Laurent and the University of Montreal, under the direction of Lorraine Desmarais, Luc Beaugrand, John Roney and Simon Denizart, Ariane Racicot performed few times on the Montreal jazz scene, notably at the Dièse Onze, at the Upstairs Jazz Club, as well as in Poland with Janusz Muniak. She is currently completing her master's degree in jazz at McGill. In 2019, she founded her own trio and created her first album, Envolée, which will be released on May 6, 2022 on the label Multiple Chord Music. Its production was subsidized by the Canada Council for the Arts. Her playing style is inspired by Hiromi Uehara, Tigran Hamasyan, Chick Corea and Keith Jarrett, and incorporates some elements of classical and metal music. Very passionate on stage, Ariane captivates the audience with her emotions, her energy and her generosity with the public. In addition to releasing her first album Envolée and still developing more skills in master degree, Ariane has also been dedicated to teaching piano for almost ten years.

My Jazz Story

I love jazz because of its freedom and the vaste possibilities we can do with it. One of the best show I ever attended was Chick Corea trio at the symphonic house in Montreal. The complicity of the musicians was incredible. Jazz and metal music are my two favorites music styles.
