I love jazz because it gives me the freedom to explore my own voice and consciousnesses through my instrument I was first exposed to jazz as a kid. My dad has a fine collection of jazz records. I met [Ray brown,Gene Harris,Jeff Hamilton,Kenny Washington,James Moody,Frank Wess,Kenny Burrell,Bobby Broom,Herb Ellis,Chick Corea,John Patitucci,Dave Weckle,John Faddis,Gretchen Parlatto,Taylor Eigsti,Hiromi,Mike Stern,John Scofield...etc..etc!] The best show I ever attended was few years ago was John Scofield and Joe Lovano,and Hiromi's Sonic Bloom. Gretchen Parlatto was outstanding last year.. The first jazz record I bought was... My advice to new listeners..find out where the music came from and how it developed.. Or whatever else you have in mind...Jazz is life..
