About Me

Originally from Québec City, bassist and guitarist André Lachance has been based in Vancouver for 32 years. He has established himself as one of the most in-demand musicians on the West Coast scene. His current group (on guitar), Quatuor André Lachance, has been together for 12 years and released “The Orange Challenge” in 2017 and “Après L’Hiver” in 2022. He also performs with the Brad Turner Quartet, the Chris Gestrin Trio, the Peggy Lee Band and the Hard Rubber Orchestra among many others. He has been involved in numerous projects in jazz, musique actuelle, funk and R’n’B and has also collaborated with various film, dance and theatre companies. He regularly tours across the Country as well as internationally, is featured on multiple albums and broadcasts and also teaches music at Capilano University in the jazz program. He has performed with Joe Lovano, Clark Terry, Lee Konitz, Benny Golson, Dave Douglas, Kenny Wheeler, Kenny Werner, Gary Bartz, Harold Mabern, Frank Morgan, Roy McCurdy, Scott Robinson and Claude Ranger among many others.
