Alex Segal
I’m a retired English lecturer who loves jazz vocalists.
About Me
I live in rural Australia. Before I retired, I was an English lecturer at Charles Sturt University, publishing articles on writers ranging from Samuel Johnson to Marcel Proust to Paul Auster to Jacques Derrida. In my retirement I am trying to put together a few thoughts on the lyrics of the Great American Songbook, thereby combining my literary passion with my passion for jazz vocalists. My 2023 articles “Tin Pan Alley Epanalepsis” and “Irving Berlin’s ‘White Christmas’” are at the MusicWeb International website.
