About Me
My Jazz Story
I love jazz because it's total freedom. I was first exposed to jazz when I was 16 years old. I met the great vibraphonist Joe Locke during a masterclass in Sardinia and since then we became friends, started playing together and talking about music and life. My advice to new listeners is not to stop listening to music when it starts sounding a bit too difficult. Open up your spirit to new sounds, as much as you stay open for new experiences in life.
My House Concert Story
Yes, I played for a House Concert in duo with Jasper Somsen, a great double bass player from Holland. That happened to be a great experience, people were very silent and concentrated, so the atmosphere became extremely intimate. Perception towards music changes if compared to big stages, you can hear the acoustic sound of the instruments involved and in a way you feel as being also part of the audience. It's like everyone is rowing in the same direction without a strict separation of roles.
