Ale Avery Nunez is a Juno Nominated jazz vocalist, songwriter, and bandleader from Toronto, Canada. Rooted in jazz and soul, she brings a musical sophistication to every performance, with a tone that is uniquely her own and a true dedication to her artistry. Her influences range from Sarah Vaughan, Carmen McRae, Nat King Cole, and Etta Jones to Aretha Franklin, Norah Jones and Feist. Soon after graduating from Humber College with her Bachelor of Music degree in Music, Ale has gone on to establish herself as an in-demand vocalist making her mark in music scenes near and far. You can often see her perform at venues such as The Rex, and the Jazz Bistro in Toronto. She has sung with some of the best musicians of Toronto and New York City including Neil Swainson, Peter Bernstein, Terry Clarke, Adam Arruda, and more. Ale was featured in JazzFM91's 2024 Discover Women in Jazz series, and recently opened for Mei Semones at the Toronto Jazz Festival and held a sold out performance at the Prince Edward County Jazz Festival. A finalists in the 2025 Ella Fitzgerald Jazz Vocal Competition by The Blues Alley Jazz Society. Her first EP Under the Lemon Tree was nominated for Vocal Jazz Album 2026 and was on the Jazz FM's top 25 Jazz Albums for 2025. Ale's debut album for Cellar Records, titled Blue Room, featuring Peter Bernstein and Neil Swainson was released August 28, 2026. The album was recorded live off the floor in a Vancouver Canada studio in an intimate setting. She is currently pursuing hervJuilliard Masters of Music Jazz Studies voice and is the first Canadian vocalist to attend this program.
