About Me
My Jazz Story
I was first exposed to jazz... when I made some new friends who were going to Sonoma State University for jazz. They introduced me first to jazz fusion, the
primary band being the Oranj Symphonette which features guitarist Joe Gore. Joe is known for his work with legends such as Tom Waits and blends unique
and complex harmony with rock guitar effects and tones. I fell in love with that music and started to develop an ear for the classic albums as well. John
Coltrane became the most impactful jazz musician in my musical and spiritual journey and Weather Report's Jaco years made a lasting impact as well. I took
a trip to New York to see Jim Hall and that was another life changing moment. His humility and grace was so evident in his music and his personality.
My House Concert Story
The most memorable house concert I hosted was "The Living Composer" concert in Cedar Park, TX. It was in a beautiful home in a perfect setting. The music
was performed with passion and skill and there were some very unique moments. The concert combined classical guitars, Cello, Double bass, and my jazz
guitar. There were multiple composers presented including a couple of my own works. It was a thrilling and beautiful event.
