Fittingly, the performance is called the Leviathan Project. It is the brainchild of renowned saxophonist and composer John Harle, Professor of Saxophone and Chamber Music at the capital's Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
The performance will take place on Midsummers Day--Sunday 21 June--at 12 noon from various starting points around the city. From the starting points, groups will process through the City whilst playing music composed by Harle. All the groups will meet up at the North end of London Bridge and continue to process playing in unison. The entire performance will take up to an hour.
To make the event a reality, the festival is recruiting saxophone players of all abiliies, amateur or professional, to participate.
