Acclaimed Canadian trumpeter/vocalist/songwriter Leif Arntzen (Channeling Chet 2000, TLAB 2003) re-appears in 2006 with a ground- breaking new working band The Leif Arntzen Quartet, performing “All Ellington", a modern jazz/rock/folk trip into a collection of song classics by America's late great composer/arranger Duke Ellington. The quartet's groove-based freeform arrangements alternately soar, swing, rock, funk, folk, blues it up with TLAQ's deep bag of unusual sounds and life-loved soul. Leif will take the band into the studio in early 2006 to record the results of their journey into “All Ellington" for Gwendoline Records.

Mr Arntzen can be contacted at [email protected], and his recordings can be found at http://www.gwendolinerecords.com
