Mission Viejo, CA (PRWEB) May 15, 2006 -- Many radio stations no longer play jazz music. Jazz clubs are disappearing from cities around the globe. Podcasts give jazz musicians an outlet to showcase their music instantly to fans worldwide. One podcast in particular has taken things a step further and created the first jazz record label born through this new medium.

Jazz is often referred to as a dying art form, but don't tell that to the handful of aficionados around the globe that have started a jazz renaissance of sorts through the new medium of “podcasting" (a type of internet radio program). The podcasts receive tens of thousands of listeners per month from a worldwide audience that actively communicates their love of jazz with the hosts of these shows.

One podcast in particular, Red Jazz, has further invested in jazz by starting a new record label. Red Jazz founder and show host Corey James Scribner states that “jazz is alive and well, don't let the cynics fool you. We launched the Red Jazz podcast in April of 2005 and saw immediately how powerful this new medium can be for a niche market like jazz music. In just over a year we've teamed up with drummer Evan Stone, who we met as a result of our podcast, to release his first solo album through our podcast-turned-record label."

Red Jazz didn't stop there. They have teamed up with other leaders in the industry to create the Jazz Podcast Network with which they hope to further the exposure of local jazz talent around the world.

With a globally successful podcast today and their first album release set for May 19, 2006, Red Jazz is definitely doing their part to save jazz for future generations, one podcast at a time.
