This International Award intends to honour the memory of the legendary Roman Saxophonist Massimo Urbani, one of the best musicians in jazz history after Charlie “Yardbird" Parker, through the finding and enhancement of National and International up-and-coming young artists.

1st article: The international Massimo Urbani Award will take place on the 26th, 27th, 28th of May 2006 in the room “Sala della Muta" of the beautiful Ducal Palace of Camerino.

2nd article: The competition is open to all jazz musicians without restriction of age, instrument played and nationality. It is possible to participate for musicians that have already participated on 2004 and on 2005, except for the winner of the previous editions.

3rd article: Application forms for the IMUA must be sent before the 26th of April 2006 (the postmark will indicate the sending date).

The following documents must be enclosed:
- application form including name, date of birth, address, telephone number and e-mail address;
- curriculum vitae (CV);
- a good quality recording CD with a minimum of three pieces of music. The pieces must be standard.

4th Article: The completed application forms must be sent to the following address: Associazione Musicamdo, Via G. Leopardi n. 42, 62032 Camerino (MC), Italy.

5th article: Applicants admission to the competition will be expressed by the final decision of the Organisation Committee and applicants will be informed by telephone and by mail before the 9th of May 2006.

6th article: The performance of the applicants admitted will be accompanied by a Trio. The following musicians form the trio: Claudio Filippini (at the piano), Massimo Moriconi (at the contrabass), Massimo Manzi (at the percussion).

7th article: The IMUA performance programme will be the following:
- 26th May 2006, 03:00 pm: Rehearsal of the applicants selected with the Trio in the room “Sala della Muta" of the beautiful Ducal Palace of Camerino (applicants must provide to the rhythmic section the pieces of standard music that they intend to perform);
- 26th May 2006, 07:00 pm: Jam sessions at the Straino Bar in Camerino;
- 26th May 2006, 09:30 pm: First performance of the International Massimo Urbani Award in the room “Sala della Muta" of the beautiful Ducal Palace of Camerino. All the applicants selected will perform and the judges will decide their admittance to the final qualifications;
- 27th May 2006, 03:00 pm: Rehearsal with the Trio and possibility to choose new pieces of music to perform;
- 27th May 2006, 07:00 pm: Jam sessions at the Straino Bar;
- 27th May 2006, 09:30 pm: Second and final performance of the applicants qualified that compete for the IMUA Award. Proclamation of the winner of IMUA 2006;
- 28th May 2006, 09:30 pm: The winners' performance of IMUA 2006 with Francesco Cafiso Quartet guest Fabrizio Bosso.

8th article: Dr. Paolo Piangerelli (IMUA Artistic Director and record producer of the Label Philology Record Company) will chair the jury. Other judges will be Dr. Francesco Rosati ("Camerino Festival" Artistic Director), two members of the committee and the musicians of the Trio that will accompany applicants.

9th article: At the end of the last performance the jury will award the following prizes:
The first classified musician receives the International Massimo Urbani Award. The award consists of a trophy in order to give memory to the roman saxophonist and a recording with the Philology Record Company. A special award will be given to the musician that will obtain the highest votes from the public, apart from the jury classification. The public can vote its favourite musician in a form that will be given along with the entrance ticket. The public will give the forms back during the first performance. To the second and third classified will be awarded two grants that allow participation to seminar organised in the best Italian jazz resorts: Umbria Jazz and Nuoro Jazz.

10th article: Italian applicants must pay a fee of 30 Euros according to the mode of payment listed in the attached application form. If applicants will qualify for the last performance, they must pay an extra fee of 30 Euros. The total fee amounts to 60 Euros. Non-Italian applicants are exempt from paying this fee. All applicants must sign the acquittance that allows the use of audio recording during the event, for future record publications and for radio broadcast.

11th article: The organisation will provide accommodation and catering excluding travel expenses.

12th article: The organisation will not be liable for any accidents that may happen during the competition.

13th article: The IMUA will be recorded from tv SAT “Jazz Around TV".

14th article: Entry to the IMUA implies the complete acceptance of this announcement regulations. The regulations are published in Italian, French and English. In case of doubt, refer to the Italian text.
