Album Description
The Soul Mutation is a trio. The Soul Mutation is their first album. The project stems from the desire to experiment with new sounds and bring together the past experiences of each of the members in various musical genres, particularly jazz and rock. In fact, The Soul Mutation straddles the realms of jazz, rock, and blues: a clear and refined voice juxtaposes solid grooves and jazz improvisations, creating a unique sound that references the most current trends in jazz music: Brad Mehldau and Mark Guiliana, Joshua Redman Elastic Band, Robert Glasper, and Esbjorn Svensson... The Soul Mutation blend these cutting-edge developments in jazz music with a European sensibility and an all-Italian focus on melody. The repertoire consists mainly of original compositions, as well as reimagined covers (Joni Mitchell, Sting, Beatles, James Taylor...). What sets them apart is their distinct personal sound, rich in groove, sophistication, and directness, always reaching the audience with energy and passion.
