This Valentine's Concert features a one-time-only all-star line-up in the FUJITSU JAZZ FESTIVAL with an exciting evening featuring Five- Time Grammy Winner and Crossover Legend Al Jarreau performing a program called “Hearts and Flowers" for a Valentine's Day Concert! Other artists include multiple-Grammy winning vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater, Grammy-nominated violinist Regina Carter, the world- renowned Grammy winning 'Orchestra of Voices' Chanticleer, and saxophone great Harry Allen. If you're in the mood for swinging jazz, love and romance, this evening will take you there as Al Jarreau is joined by some of America's top artists! at Philips and Ettore Stratta say, “We have always been major fans of these remarkable artists, and it is a joy for us to bring them all together to surround the great Al Jarreau. “Hearts and Flowers" will not only put you 'in the mood for love' but also once again prove that Al is one of the most dynamic and exciting perfomers on the stage today. Dee Dee, Regina, Harry, and Chanticleer have also proven their enormous talent and are eager to share the stage with legendary Al Jarrreau. The program will include romantic standards including special material created for this Valentine's Day Concert hot swinging and funky numbers, some Brazilian music such as 'Like A Lover" written by Dori Caymmi which Al loves and has recorded. And, it couldn't be a concert with Al Jarreau without some of his big hits, performed with the Al Jarreau Band! Al Jarreau's unique vocal style is one of the world's most precious treasures. His innovative musical expressions have made him one of the most exciting and critically-acclaimed performers of our time with five Grammy Awards, scores of international music awards and popular accolades worldwide. Multiple Grammy-winning vocalist and Honorary U.N. Ambassador DEE DEE BRIDGEWATER is one of only a handful of entertainers who have ever commanded such depth of artistry in every medium. At ease in any setting, at any tempo, sensual, full of nuance and vividly expressive, Dee Dee proves she is the reigning queen of jazz singers. REGINA CARTER is one of the most significant and innovative violinists to emerge on the jazz scene in decades. Carrying on the legacy of Stephane Grappelli, Jean Luc-Ponty and Stuff Smith, Carter is keeping the jazz-violin flame alive. She's a true original, possessing the ability to integrate the finer elements of jazz, funk, American, Brazilian and soul music with an adventurous rhythmic sensibility. Because of this special Valentine Concert occasion, the briliant and beautiful multiple Grammy winning 'Orchestra of Voices" CHANTICLEER will join the “Hearts and Flowers" concert event. This internationally acclaimed Bay area ensemble with their seamless blend of twelve male voices will add to the romance of the evening and collaborate for 'the very first time' with the great Al Jarreau.
