Expect a sea of black and gold as folks compete to win prizes in the Wear Your Most Outrageous Who Dat Outfit contest.

Two guest vocalists join the flamenco group Ven Pa'Ca at Chickie Wah Wah-- the well-known flamenco singer Chayito Champion and the perhaps less likely collaborator Johnette Napolitano, best known as the frontwoman of the '90s rock group Concrete Blonde.

House of Blues, 8 p.m.
No doubt fans of the '80s legends will fill the French Quarter club as the familiar faces of Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson, Cindy Wilson and Keith Strickland take to the stage, bringing bouffants and dance-punk to the Crescent City. Expect joyous dancing to “Love Shack" as well as the No. 1 1978 hit “Rock Lobster." The band, which came out of Athens, Ga., was part of the New Wave scene of the late 1970s and '80s, combining punk with infectious pop melodies.

Space-bluesman Papa Mali hosts his third annual Supernatural Ball at Tipitina's. That One Guy, a former bass player who felt frustrated by the limitations of his instrument, plays his 7-foot-tall Magic Pipe (a handmade amalgam of strings, pipes, gears and buttons) for free at Howlin' Wolf.

At the Marigny Theatre, downtown keyboard and bass oddity Ratty Scurvics performs a full theatrical event with new band the Black Market Butchers, plus acrobats and clowns.
The Treme Brass Band plays the Candlelight Lounge.
