Please join us for another studio performance on WLRNs South Florida Arts Beat
Featuring Big Poppa E and the E Band
Friday, July 17, 2009 at 1:00pm (Eastern U.S.)
Big Poppa E has been performing his signature brand of the Blues for decades. Influenced as a teenager by Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, he picked up the harmonica early on. His budding career led him to percussion performances with R&B legends Ike and Tina Turner, folk artist John Prine, avant garde saxophonist Joseph Jarman and Soul Pop legend Bill Withers. In 2003, he started his own recording label, Black Owl Music and has championed the music of many other great artists. He is also an accomplished guitarist and all of his talents come together in his current band which includes Sean Birdman Gould on lead guitar, Ray Martinez - keyboards, Ernesto Seijas - drums and Felipe Lamoglia sax. Catch the band in clubs from Delray Beach to Coral Gables and Little Havana.
Tune in worldwide at WLRN.Org, Friday, July 17th at 1:00pm Eastern U.S. to hear the excitement. Click on Listen Online 91.3 and dig Poppa's Blues.
The program is generously co-sponsored by Pollo Tropical and Friends of WLRN.
Hope you'll tune in this Friday.
