Radio and Records and Performing Songwriter Stop Publishing

Two magazines that served the professional music industry are closing due to the tough economic climate and increases in online media consumption.

Music and radio industry trade Radio & Records will shut down this week after 36 years. R&R's airplay charts and some other content will be added to Billboard Magazine. All 40 staffers will loose their jobs.

Established in 1993, Nashville based Performing Songwriter will end publication with its June issue. The magazine offered in an in depth look into the word of songwriting.
