Renowned Arranger and Composer Rob Mathes Conducts the Orchestra
For her sophomore Bluebird / RCA Victor Group outing, pianist-vocalist-composer Eliane Elias fulfills a career-long dream: recording an album of vocals supported by a full orchestra. The gorgeous DREAMER is an 11-track collection comprised of a fresh mix of songs from the American songbook, rapturous Brazilian bossa novas and two new originals. DREAMER also represents the first time Brazil-born New York-based Elias has recorded an album with all the tunes sung in English. The CD will be released on May 4 and is a follow-up to her critically acclaimed Kissed by Nature.
During her career, Elias has performed in a range of settings, from straight-ahead jazz to free-style improvisation, and has offered distinctive renditions of a variety of Brazil's music, including swaying bossa novas and moving interpretations of classic tunes by her country's great songwriters. With DREAMER, the virtuoso pianist delivers another remarkable album that this time trains the spotlight on her talent as a sensuous vocalist.
