Watch the latest episode of Jazz it Up! In this premiere episode of Season 2, we're featuring performances and interviews with bassist and vocalist Esperanza Spalding and the legendary tenor saxophonist and composer Benny Golson. For our Jazz Ed segment, the premier jazz drummer of his generation, Lewis Nash, demonstrates the basics of drum artistry. There’s a vintage clip of the Bill Evans trio (with Marty Morell, drums, and Eddie Gomez, bass), courtesy of Jazz Icons. Our jazz news covers the Charlie Parker Festival at Mount Morris Park in Harlem, and a re-make of the famous “Great Day in Harlem” photo session from 50 years ago.
