New Orleans Guitar Legend Jimmy Robinson Solo CD

New Orleans guitarist Jimmy Robinson has released his first solo recording. The cd is titled “Vibrating Strings" and features Jimmy on acoustic guitars and vocals. Of the 18 cuts, 16 are original compositions, and there is a reworking of Jimi Hendrix' “The Wind Cries Mary" featuring the Bonerama Horns and an instrumental version of Led zeppelin's “Kashmir". Along with Bonerama, other guest appearances from Theresa Andersson on violin and vocals, and Susan Cowsill on vocals.

Jimmy Robinson is known for his work with long running instrumental band WOODENHEAD, the guitar collective TWANGORAMA, and the SUSAN COWSILL BAND.

Jimmy will take part in NEW ORLEANS GUITAR MASTERS IN THE ROUND with guitarists Phil deGruy and John Rankin, at Carrollton Station in New Orleans on Saturday, July 5th.

There will be 3 record release shows in July:

  • Friday, July 25th at Carrollton Station, 10 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 26th at The Louisiana Music factory 4 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 31st at The Ogden Museum Of Art 6 to 8 pm.
