A community-driven effort to further jazz on the web

Since we began back in 1995, and through the constant volunteer support of jazz enthusiasts, jazz musicians, industry professionals and web technicians, All About Jazz has established itself as an essential resource for jazz music. The site's importance grows with each passing year and as we further expand what we do, our dependency on folks like yourself grows as well. We're committed to building a comprehensive website that embraces a global community of members that love jazz.

Our vision is to build a music resource where everyone can play an active role in furthering the awareness of jazz and jazz musicians on the internet.

What can this mean for you?

It means that you can join our staff of volunteers to submit articles, create musician profiles, enter local calendar and news information, maintain the directory of venues, and leverage AAJ's growing infrastructure and reach (that's technical speak for the hardware/software that come together to construct AAJ, and our readership).

Thanks to our unprecedented growth and our strong search engine placement, AAJ has established itself as an important advocacy site for jazz, one that cultivates new listeners while exposing long-time listeners to new forms by contemporary composers.

We have come a long way, yet our journey has just begun: There is much data to gather and maintain, and more technical work ahead.

As we open the website (a la wikipedia) to knowledgeable and caring jazz people, we aim to be a valued and dependable resource for jazz music for years to come. Built and maintained by volunteers around the world, we're looking for your help to assist us in our mission to further the awareness of jazz on the internet.

There are many ways you can participate in AAJ. We hope that you will join us on this exciting and oftentimes educational journey, as we continue to build on a very special site that was developed for a cause we can all support.

Are you interested in working with us? If so...

  1. Sign up as a contributor

  2. Contact us with your specific area of interest (you can always expand your role in time)

I love jazz, but do not play and do have jazz musicians I follow. The jazz scene in my country is pretty limited for now but would like to contribute in any way I can. I would occasionally send in news and information whenever I can. Thanks for the opportunity to be part of this.Regards
