Atlanta's Kemba Cofield return's home to celebrate her successful South American Tour.

June 8, 2009(ATLANTA, GA) Kemba Cofield, one of Atlanta's most celebrated jazz vocalists, is returning to Atlanta after performing overseas for the past three months.

Kemba Cofield return's to Atlanta to celebrate her successful South American Tour. This dynamic jazz vocalist, will show her versatility in performing various genres of music. Each evening will offer a unique blend of flavors from Latin and R & B, to soul and classic straight ahead jazz. She will even perform some of her original songs from her upcoming CD.

If you are a connoisseur of fine NY Jazz, then you'll enjoy saxophonist Gray Mayfield. Friday night's drummer South Carolina's Jeremy Roberson will rock the house with his complex rhythms and unique sound. If you like world infused rhythms with a taste of down home grooves, Derek Truck's drummer Yonrico Scott will be playing Saturday night. Band leader Jose Garcia of the International Groove Conspiracy will lead both nights on the piano and leading Neosoul bassist on the Atlanta music scene Joel Powell will complete the harmonic flow. Through the course of the evening Kemba will be joined by several internationally renowned colleagues.

Kemba Cofield's “Welcome Home Concert" will be held June 12 and 13, 2009 9-12 in downtown Atlanta at Star Jazz and Blues Lounge, 177 Peters Street, Atlanta, GA 30313. There is a $10.00 cover. She will be joined by prominent musicians from the world of jazz.

Ms. Cofield's first solo project, Shades of Kemba was released in 2005 to rave reviews. In 2007, Kemba Cofield Live in Atanta was released as a compilation disc of live shows featuring music from neo-soul, classical and spiritual genres. She is set to release her 3rd project Here She Comes, Fall 2009.

Cofield says, “Having the opportunity to travel to the vibrant country of Chile, I reinvented myself musically and have evolved into a new performer. This experience expanded my repertoire and range. I had a fabulous time."
