I LIKE IT LIKE THAT

This past May, Fania Records released the first remix collection I LIKE IT LIKE THAT, pairing up the hottest dance scene remixers with legendary tracks by Fania artists like Pete Rodriguez, Hctor Lavoe, Willie Coln and Rubn Blades. This album marks the first time the label has remixed its classics tracks, taking the Fania flavor up a notch. Released May 6, 2008.

Star tracks include Aaron Jerome's remix of Pete Rodriguez's “I like it Like That," Louie Vegas' EOL Remix of his uncle, Hctor Lavoe's, “Mi Gente," Bugz in the Attic's “Plstico," originally by Willie Coln and Rubn Blades, and Joe Claussell's “Aljate," originally by Hctor Lavoe.

“As an artist, it was a tall order to work with tracks that mean so much to Fania fans worldwide," says Louie Vega “I hope that we've been able to enhance the Fania catalog with our individual takes on each of these tunes."

FANIA DJ SERIES: GILLES PETERSON

This past March, Fania Records released its International DJ collection with a compilation by Gilles Peterson, who assembled 26 tracks in this double CD production, the first in a three part series for the famed Latin label. In the FANIA DJ SERIES, Gilles Peterson contains vocal and instrumental tracks from such legends as Tito Puente, Ray Barretto, Roberto Roena, and Eddie Palmieri, among others. The compilation also includes a write up by Peterson. The second release in the series will feature rising pioneer and vinyl fanatic Matt Ford, aka DJ Format, who has a rock-solid name as a DJ and remixer and hails from the UK as well. Released January 15, 2008.

“I must have listened to 200 albums to get to this," says Peterson
