The Tragically Hip - the much-revered quintet known for their vigorous and often improvisational live shows" (WXPN)- will kick off their 11-city, 19-date tour May 7 at Philadelphia's Fillmore at Theatre of Living Arts (TLA) and wrap June 17 at Seattle's Moore Theatre.
The band, of whom one pundit said If the Rolling Stones and R.E.M. were to have sex, the result would be a five-headed baby called The Tragically Hip," are a national treasure in Canada and a favorite amongst music critics and fans for their stirring lyrics and powerful rock sounds. Led by the dynamic frontman and main songwriter Gordon Downie, the group has sold over 6 million albums worldwide, sold out concert stadiums across North America and Canada and retained a fiercely dedicated fan base in their 25+ years together.
The Tragically Hip's twelfth studio album We are the Same is out April 7 on Rounder Records.
