GRATEFUL DEAD eBOOK IS RELEASED IN iTUNES APP STORE

Mosaic Legends, LLC, a digital media company focused on turning digital assets into marketable consumer products & services, partners with San Francisco based rock photographer Jay Blakesberg to create the first interactive electronic book of the Grateful Dead. Available exclusively at the Apple iTunes App Store, this eBook utilizes over four hundred photographs and original text to create a content rich experience.

“The Grateful Dead are the perfect subject for our first interactive eBook," said digital artist and Mosaic Legends founder Craig Adam. “Their legacy has left a mark in rock history like no other and Jay's image archive captures the true zeitgeist of the Grateful Dead experience."

This entertaining and informative App features an introduction written by Jay Blakesberg about his adventures documenting the band. With an historical essay by Aaron Kayce, editor-in-chief of JamBase.com, and over two hundred facts and quotes about the band, the magic of the Grateful Dead is alive and well and living in this App.

Craig Adam created the cover artwork for this eBook titled “Touch of Grey." This eye-popping interpretation of Blakesberg's 1991 portrait of Jerry Garcia combines the patented Photomosaic technology with Jay's photo archive to create a stunning visual documentation that captures the musical, personal, and cultural experience of the “Dead" on-stage and off. Double-tap or pinch to zoom into the Photomosaic all the way to the full resolution of a single image. Each interactive photograph contains information such as the location, date and photographer notes. Users can e-mail each image to a friend or start a blog-like conversation in the Deadhead forum.

Mosaic Legends' digital publishing platform simplifies the App building process and allows content creators to easily enter photographs, text, audio and video through its web based interface. This turnkey solution gives Mosaic Legends the ability to bring new products to the public via the App store in a relatively short period of time. “Working with this project has given me the opportunity to share my photographs with Deadheads in a whole new ground breaking way," says Blakesberg. “I'm looking forward to opening my archive to Mosaic Legends so they can continue to create new and entertaining Apps of the many artists I've had the opportunity to photograph."

Jay Blakesberg is recognized as one of the leading visual documentarians of the Grateful Dead experience. He has released four books of his photography including the best selling “Between the Dark and Light," The Grateful Dead photography of Jay Blakesberg, as well as books on Primus, The Flaming Lips and most recently his 30 year retrospective “Traveling on a High Frequency" chronicling his 30 years as a rock photographer.

Founded in 2005, Mosaic Legends is a digital media company that has the exclusive Patent rights in the music and sports categories to create Photomosaics in digital and print formats. The company has contracted with some of the world's most famous music photographers such as Mick Rock, Terry O'Neill, Robert Altman, Jay Blakesberg and Michael Zagaris, and has licensed over 30,000 music photographs for use in their projects. The founder, Craig Adam, has over 18 years of digital image, video & audio experience and focuses on turning digital assets into marketable consumer products & services.

The App can be found on the iTunes store by searching Grateful Dead under App Store.
