New York, NY -- NYC Music Spaces is the new name of nonprofit website NYC Music Places. The organization's focus on filling the ongoing rehearsal and performance space needs of musicians living in or coming to New York City is reflected in its name change. As always, its services are free of charge to those seeking spaces, as well as to facilities who list spaces.

The NYC Music Spaces website (http://www.nycMusicSpaces.org) debuted as NYC Music Places in 2001 and serves musicians -- instrumentalists and vocalists, soloists and groups -- performing the full spectrum of musical styles and genres. The website is updated weekly and now lists over 800 available spaces in NYC's five boroughs. It includes free classified ads for those seeking or offering music rehearsal space shares and office space shares.

Fred Sherry, cellist and faculty member of The Juilliard School says, “In a town where nobody has time or space, NYC Music Spaces is the perfect resource. It is fast, comprehensive and easy to use."

Its nonprofit sponsoring organization, NYC Performing Arts Spaces (http://www.nycPASpaces.org), was previously known as Exploring the Metropolis, Inc.
