Featuring 11 tracks, Ameranouches much anticipated second album will be available on May 1st, 2009.
AMERANOUCHE follows the band's format and evolution from its gypsy jazz origins to thecatchy, acoustic originals that grabbed the attention of movie producers, magazine editors andmajor festival circuits.
The new collection includes 10 original songs and an instrumental arrangement of the classic French song, La Foule all recorded by lead guitarist Richard Sheppard, rhythm guitarist Ryan Flaherty and upright bassist Xar Adelberg. While all three musicians sing on the album, a majority of the work is instrumental.
Ameranouche formed in 2005 and has played venues from the prestigious Newport Jazz Festival and Djangofest Northwest, to busking and club gigs throughout New England, the Mid Atlantic and the South, including tours through Midwest and Southern regions.
Three original songs from the band's debut album were featured in National Lampoons feature film Beach Party at the Threshold of Hell. The group was also awarded Best of New Hampshire 2008 by New Hampshire Magazine. A recent highlight for Ameranouche was opening for Herbie Hancock and Sonny Rollins at the 2008 JVC Newport Jazz Festival held lastAugust. The trio received a standing ovation at Newport, one of the oldest jazz festivals inhistory.
Several regional and national tours are planned for 2009 in support of the new CD AWAKE. The CD and MP3's will be available online at the Ameranouche Website and on CD BABY.
