Music Business Consultant, Vocalist, and Boston Hip-Hop Alliance Co-Founder to Talk with Berklee Students

On Tuesday April 12, 2005, Music Business Professional Darcie-Nicole Wicknick participate in a forum and discussion for students about Women in Leadership, particularly in the music industry. Jane Stachowiak will facilitate. The workshop is open to the Berklee Community and is sponsored by The Student Activities Department, Student Affairs, and the Women's Network of Staff and Faculty at Berklee.

ABOUT MISS WICKNICK: Berklee Music Business/Management Alumna Darcie-Nicole Wicknick began her career in the entertainment industry in 1976. A professional R&B and Gospel vocalist, she has worked as a vocalist and songwriter with many New England producers. She has performed in numerous choral, ensemble, and solo settings, and is the current bandleader for VELVET STYLUS. Darcie worked for several years for TKO SOUND COMMUNICATIONS and for I-POP RECORDS/JMP. She founded her own firm “...ASK DARCIE" in 2001. “...Ask Darcie" reaches a diverse, worldwide client base, and offers services in publicity, administration, radio promotion, artist development, general industry advice, and more. Many of her services are free, and the others are very affordable for the independent artist or upstart company. “...Ask Darcie" can be found as a special guest on BOSTONRAP.COM and as a forum moderator on VANNACAREY.COM.

Darcie also serves as Co-Founder and Managing Director for the BOSTON HIP-HOP ALLIANCE, and writes for the music business publication MUSICBIZADVICE.COM and the soon-to-launch E-Zine EAR2THESTREETS.COM, both of which are owned and operated by women. Darcie also contributes pieces for FMSOUND.NET. PETEMARRIOTT.NET, and SUBVERSIVE MAGAZINE. She also volunteer-teaches at the HIP-HOP MECCA PROJECT in Dorchester, MA, and offers workshops as well.
