Luthea Salom
New York, NY: Indie/Folk songstress Luthea Salom is a uniquely talented singer/songwriter with a distinct voice, a sly wit and a playfully engaging performance style. Hosting a CD release party in support of her third U.S. CD release, Kick in the Head, she will be appearing at The Living Room, New York City's venerable singer/songwriter music venue on the Lower East Side, on Friday, March 2, 2012, at 7:00 PM.

“Luthea stands out from her peers." —Rolling Stone Magazine

Luthea Salom is a multi-cultured, bilingual singer/songwriter originally from Spain, growing up part of the time in Canada, and now based in New York City. She's steadily emerging in the international music scene as a major talent having toured the U.K., Spain, Portugal and Germany. On Luthea's last European tour in Germany the tour was originally organized by her fans who were anxious for her to make an appearance there until, impressed by the tremendous audience response to her music, Audi Germany and Shark Power Drink decided to sponsor her tour.

Luthea's first two successful CDs, Out of Without (2002), and Sunbeam Surrounded by Winter (2007), were produced by Grammy Award Winning producer Malcolm Burn in the U.S. and her highly anticipated latest CD release, Kick In The Head, was recorded in Barcelona, Spain and released in Europe in 2010. When she is not touring or promoting in Europe she performs in the U.S., particularly in NYC, and is a well known fixture in the downtown club scene, performing in many other hot spots around the city as well.

“Blank Piece of Paper," one of several great cuts on Kick in the Head, was selected as best song of the month in June of 2011 by “Crank Your Cred" at the International Songwriting Competition (ISC). And while Kick in the Head is an upbeat and uplifting treat, seeing this gifted and original performer live is a refreshing and delightful delicacy that never fails to satisfy her audience.
