The Hollywood Jazz Orchestra have announced their schedule for the first half of the year, 2023.
Starting with the NAMM Convention in Anaheim Friday April 14th 6p.m. on the Arena Plaza Stage. HJO quickly follow that with the season opening performance at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art). Over the years, the free concerts at LACMA have featured such legends as Wayne Shorter, Quincy Jones, Arturo Sandoval and Yellowjackets. The Los Angeles Jazz Orchestra performance is on Friday April 28th 6-8p.m., and will be broadcast on KJAZZ 88.1 FM on Sunday April 30th to coincide with Jazz Appreciation Day.
June 30th LAJO will be performing at the CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival, with special guest, trombonist extraordinaire Conrad Herwig. July 1st LAJO will be closing The Rochester International Jazz Festival with Guest Russell Thompkins Jr (legendary lead singer with The Stylistics). This will be the second time Russell Thompkins Jr has guested with The Hollywood Jazz Orchestra, following the hugely successful sold out concert at Catalina's Jazz Club in Hollywood last Fall.
