LITCHFIELD--The Litchfield Jazz Festival is ushering its 11th Anniversary (August 4-6) with Jazz Around Town--A series of mid-week Jazz concerts for the community. The brainchild of the Litchfield Jazz Camp's, Don Braden, the program is made possible with support from the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism.



We have scheduled twelve jazz performances by the esteemed teaching artists of the Litchfield Jazz Camp and four student performances to be held at the Johnson Art Center at Forman School.



The jazz offerings feature world-renowned teaching artists at the Litchfield Jazz Camp. They include saxophonists Don Braden, Kris Allen, Mike DiRubbo, Claire Daly, Jimmy Greene, bassists Mario Pavone, and Dave Ruffels, drummers Jeff Hirshfield, Rogerio Boccato, Steve Johns, and Winard Harper, trumpeters Joe Magnarelli, Steven Bernstein and Louise Baranger, pianists David Berkman, Dena DeRose and Peter Madsen, guitarists Paul Bollenback and Dave Stryker, and vocalist Stephanie Nakasian.



Senior Teaching Artist concerts are scheduled Tuesday, July 11, Thursday, July 13, Tuesday, July 18, Thursday, July 20, Tuesday, July 25, Thursday, July 27, Monday, July 31 and Wednesday, August 2 at 7 PM. Junior Teaching Artist concerts are scheduled Monday, July 10, Monday, July 17, Monday, July 24 and Tuesday, August 1 at 7 PM. Student Ensemble final performances are scheduled Friday July 14, Friday July 21, Friday July 28 and Thursday, August 3 at 6:30 PM.
