JJA Presents "Jazz Matters" Panel Discussion Series

The New York Chapter of the Jazz Journalists Association will present the Panel Discussion “How to Get A Book Deal," organized by Lara Pelligrinelli, as part of the JJA's “Jazz Matters" Panel Discussion Series.

The discussion will feature a panel of leading editors, agents and authors discussing and offering practical “real-world" publishing advice. Guest panelists include music editor Kim Robinson (Oxford University Press); Holly George-Warren (former editor, Rolling Stone Press), Ashley Kahn, author of A Love Supreme: The Story of John Coltrane's Signature Album and Kind of Blue: The Making of the Miles Davis Masterpiece; agents from the Sarah Lazin Agency; and Yale University professor John Szwed, also the author So What: The Life of Miles Davis, Space is the Place: The Lives and Times of Sun Ra, and Jazz 101, among others. The panel will be moderated by Howard Mandel, JJA president.

Location: The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, 55 West 13th Street (between 5th/6th Aves.), 5th floor performance space
